On Saturday 13 May 2023, the UK will be hosting the finals of the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 25 years, and we’re sure you’re as excited as we are! The glitz, the glamour, the catchy bops and the nul points – it’s a major calendar event for us. To mark the return of the iconic event to these shores, we’ve created a little quiz to see just how well you know your European landmarks – and the countries they’re located in.
Some of them are about as iconic as you can get. But we were a bit cheeky and threw in some tough ones to really put your travel know-how to the test too. You can give the quiz a go, here.
We’ve already passed this quiz round a few different places, and the answers really surprised us! So, being little nerds, we’ve analysed the results and pulled out a few fun stats. And, can we say, what a clever bunch you Cruise Nation fans are!
What we found
- The average overall score was 7/10 – an impressive number that 24% of our quizzers managed to achieve.
- Even more impressive, however, were the 11% of participants who managed to get full marks! They really do know their stuff when it comes to landmark knowledge.
- Unsurprisingly, the questions that involved more world-renowned landmarks such as those in France, Italy and the UK were answered almost 100% correctly.
- Some of our questions were a little on the cunning side, with nearly half of our participants falling into our trap: the Spanish Steps aren’t actually located in Spain – you can find them in Rome, however!
- Other landmarks that our participants tripped over include 68% being unable to identify the Corvin/Hunyadi Castle, 1 in 5 thinking the Brandenburg Gate was in Greece, and 64.7% placing the St. Patricks Cathedral in Ireland in either the UK, Sweden or Norway.
We hope this quiz has got the travel inspo on the go! To see the hottest deals at the best prices, including across Europe’s best-loved locations, head to our homepage for all the deets in full here.
