As you’d expect, an adults-only cruise is a sailing with a minimum age limit for passengers, which is usually 18 years and over.

Adults-Only Cruise Ships
Want to get in on the grownup action? Of course, you do! But what’s available when it comes to adults-only ships?
P&O Cruises have two Exclusively for Adults ships in their fleet: Arcadia and Aurora. Like sophistication and tranquillity with your journey? Both ships can help with that, creating luxury experiences at a chilled-out pace that’ll suit parents looking for a blissful break.
No need to be so selective with Virgin Voyages: every single one of their cruises is adults only! And since the line’s big on party vibes, that’ll be welcome news to anyone in the mood for a boogie, day or night! Evenings on the ship can get pretty risqué too - just another reason they keep their fleet strictly 18+.
There are other lines which are more catered to adults too, such as Azamara, Silversea Cruises and Seabourn. While these lines aren’t exclusively for grown-ups, kids are few and far between on these upscale lines – in fact, Azamara features none of the kids’ clubs or youth staff you’d expect from other cruise lines.
Adults Only Cruises FAQs
There’s a bit of confusion around this. Celebrity Cruises isn’t strictly speaking adults only. However, as a more upscale line, you’ll tend to get more adults as opposed to families sailing with children on their ships.
If you are thinking of going on a cruise with Celebrity Cruises, you can expect to sail with adults and couples who are in their mid-30s to late-50s. Activities onboard are more on the adult side too, its pools are more tranquil and relaxed, while its solarium is entirely adults-only too.
Royal Caribbean doesn’t run any adults-only cruises. However, it does have plenty in the way of ships that are tailored to couples and parents travelling with adult children. A lot of its ships also feature adults-only pools and lounges, so if you need an escape, you can retreat to certain parts of the ship with ease.
Our pick of Royal Caribbean’s more adult-centric ships include:
- Rhapsody of the Seas
- Anthem of the Seas
- Quantum of the Seas
- Mariner of the Seas
- Jewel of the Seas
- Harmony of the Seas
