Enjoy sampling the Catalan cuisine at this inexpensive tapas bar. One of the best dishes is xató, a salad which is topped with salted cod, anchovies and tuna and finished off with a drizzle of Malvasia de Sitges which is a local dessert wine.
Els Quatre Gats
For those looking for a little history and culture served alongside their meal, Els Quatre Gats in the Gothic Quarter is known as the meeting place of many famous artists during the modernist period. From Gaudi to Picasso, if you dine here you’ll feel like you’ve stepped back into the past.

This modern and stylish restaurant has a wide range of dishes on the menu, however it really specialises in seafood with a Catalan twist. If you can, try to book a table on the terrace which is beautifully lit for an elegant atmosphere.

Guria Taberna is a traditional pintxo bar which is often packed with locals and visitors alike. It’s a small place so it does fill up quickly. Head there around 7pm to make sure you get a seat to enjoy some delicious tapas.

Events in Sitges
Sitges Flower Carpet Festival
This annual week-long event takes place from around the 17th to the 25th June. Also known as ‘Concurso de Alfombras de Flores' and sometimes 'Arte Floral del Corpus Christi’, the event sees local people create flower carpets which run through the streets in a beautiful display of coloured flowers, petals and seeds which form intricate designs.
Sitges International Film Festival
Held in early October, the Sitges Film Festival has been taking place for over 50 years. The festival shows viewings and movie debuts from all around the world. Some of the most notable names to have their work associated with the event include Director Guillermo del Toro and actors Jackie Chan, Kit Harington and Dakota Fanning.
Sitges Carnival
The Carnival is possibly the most celebrated event in Sitges. It takes place in February and attracts thousands of people who come to watch the colourful parades, dance in the streets to musical performances and more uniquely, take part in the Bed Race which literally involves racing a bed on wheels through the streets.
Sitges Pride
As one of the most popular LGBT holiday destinations in Europe, Sitges Pride is one of the best Pride events in the calendar. It takes place in June each year and the town comes to life with a dazzling array of colourful costumes, events and parades.
