Children are welcome on board Silversea cruises, but the line is only able to take children from 6 months or older. Depending on the voyage, there may be other age restrictions so it’s important to check! Silversea doesn’t have any programmes for children however, so you may wish to take this into account when booking.

What is the tipping/gratuities policy?
Gratuities are included in your fare on Silversea Cruises so there’s no expectation to tip during your holiday. However, you can offer tips at your discretion for butler or spa services for example.
Are drinks included/what are the cost of drinks packages?
Selected wines, premium spirits, specialty coffees and soft drinks are complimentary throughout all bars, lounges and dining rooms on your ship. You also get a stocked in-suite bar which is replenished every day.
What is the dress code?
The dress code on board Silversea is very much casual - so wear what you'd usually wear for a holiday, depending on the weather.
In the evenings, the dress code becomes more smart-casual. So think shirts, jackets and a smart pair of trousers for the men, and dresses for women. After 6pm, it's best to leave the trainers and jeans in your cabin.
What plugs/voltage is required?
Each stateroom on Silversea is equipped with a 110-volt US socket and a 220-volt European socket.
Are there laundry facilities onboard?
Self-service laundry facilities are available for all guests free of charge, including washers, dryers and ironing equipment. For express or standard valet laundry, you’ll need to pay a small fee per item.
Can I use my mobile from the ship?
Yes! You can use your mobile as normal from your Silversea Cruise as long as you switch on roaming, let your network provider know you’ll be travelling and make sure you’re aware of any international roaming charges.
What is the cost of Wi-fi onboard?
Standard Wi-Fi is available free of charge for all guests, although those sailing in certain suites or on different ships might have access to premium Wi-Fi as standard. You can upgrade your connectivity if you’d like, although this will come at an additional cost.
What are the onboard payment options?
For those who would prefer to remain cashless throughout the cruise, you can add a credit or debit card to your onboard account which can be used to charge any additional payments or purchases throughout your cruise. Keep in mind that this will need to be settled before disembarkation.
Can I smoke onboard?
Silversea has a no-smoking policy for the majority of areas on their ships, including staterooms, private verandas, dining rooms and other public areas. Guests are only permitted to smoke in clearly marked designated areas.

While Silversea has an ultra-luxury atmosphere and there is no family-focused entertainment and excursions, the line is not adults only. Children as young as six months are very much allowed to travel, although any children younger than this cannot travel.

Depending on the length of your cruise, your ship may have a formal night such as the Captain's Welcome Dinner or a themed party, where guests tend to dress up in tuxedos and cocktail dresses, but this kind of attire isn't always expected.
