Carnivals Dress Code
What can you wear onboard a Carnival cruise?
It depends on the occasion, of course, so be sure to check out the following info – you don’t want to be turned away from certain venues or restaurants because of your attire after all!
Through the Day?
Keep it casual in things like shorts, tees, polo shirts, blouses and summer dresses. Even workout gear is fine for Carnival. Bathing suits and swimwear is fine, just be sure to cover up if you’re heading to the Lido Restaurant. And if it gets nippy, make sure you layer up with something warm.
At Night?
In the main dining room, there are two dress codes for men, women and kids.
The first, “Cruise Casual” is your smart casual kind of clothing. Think trousers, khakis, jeans and collared polo shirts for men, and summer dresses casual skits, capris, jeans, blouses and tops for women.
“Cruise Elegant” is your best bib and tucker. Men should go for dress trousers and shirts, along with a sport coat, but you might fancy bringing along a suit or tuxedo for the occasion too. For the ladies, cocktail dresses, elegant skirts, blouses and evening gowns are the typical attire.
Carnival Cruises FAQs
What's included?
Like a lot of other major cruise lines, Carnival Cruises are not truly all-inclusive. That said, your standard cruise fare still includes plenty: your accommodation, access to onboard leisure facilities, live entertainment and food in the main dining rooms and buffets, as well as select meals in certain specialty dining venues.
What is the tipping policy?
Gratuities onboard your Carnival Cruise are mandatory. However, they can be removed if you visit the Guest Services desk on your ship, should you be unhappy with the service staff have provided.
However, we’d recommend against doing so. Gratuities make up a big chunk of the crew’s salary, and since Carnival Line is an American cruise line, tipping is a big part of the culture of both the company and the country too. Think like a local and don’t be tempted to remove your gratuities.
What are the cost of drinks packages?
Carnival Cruises keep it simple with two drinks packages for you to enjoy onboard:
CHEERS!
Starting at $59.95 per person, per day, the CHEERS! Package includes:

Packaged water in both the Dining Room and Specialty Restaurants
25% discount off the menu price for any spirit or wine by the glass above $20.00
25% discount off the menu price for wine and Champagne by the bottle
25% discount off beverage seminars and classes
Bottomless Bubbles
