This quirky bar is a firm Carnival cruise line favourite. It has a fun concept in which the mixologists wear lab coats and create cocktails as prescriptions. They have some fantastic cocktails available and they also hold mixology lessons here, which is well worth attending.

The remarkable Victoriana Show Lounge is the main theatre, spanning decks three, four and five. It hosts all the Carnival Freedom’s ships stage productions, including musicians, singers, dancers and magicians. In fact, Freedom was the first Carnival Cruise line ship to receive all four new PlayList Production shows - 80s Pop to the Max, Island Getaway, Heart of Soul and 88 Keys -- complete with changing LED backdrops. Shows are around half an hour so if you arrive late, its possible to stand in the back while enjoying a good view.
It also hosts "Hasbro, the Game Show", a few times during each sailing. If you want to take part, make sure to get a seat on deck three and you will have to answer trivia questions to obtain a spot as a contestant. Contestants then have to act out a rendition of a famous Hasbro game for a chance to win Hasbro prizes.

This hilarious even takes place in the International Lounge, with four comedians, which each usually performs a family-friendly and adults-only set. Be warned that the adult comedy is not for the faint of heart.

The Babylon Casino is a large space with a vast array of glittering slot machines as well as a great variety of table games. There is a lively crowd at the casino at any given time and some staff members on hand to help teach beginners the ropes. If you enjoy playing you should keep an eye out for their very lucrative tournaments.

This decadent spa is run by Elemis and offers delightful treatment options such as a variety of facials, massages, scrubs and teeth-whitening, but also collagen treatments, Ionithermie cellulite reduction and acupuncture. It has a spacious sauna and steam room and offer daily specials and is usually a bit cheaper on port days.

Deck eleven hosts the fitness centre area where you can join a class or make use of their state-of-the-art exercise machines, including ellipticals, stationary bikes, treadmills, resistance machines and free weights. Some of their classes are free but others like pilates and yoga are charged per class. Personal training also is available.

Freedom underwent a major refurbishment in spring 2014, bringing with it the line's Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades. Most of the changes, though, cater to families and the kid in all of us. The first ship in the Carnival fleet to receive Camp Ocean facilities, as well as the full Seuss at Sea program, Freedom is not only outfitted to keep children of any age content but also offers activities suited for family participation.
