The inspirational Carnival Elation was built to celebrate the muses who inspire the arts and to offer tons of vacation fun. It had a dry dock revitalisation in 2017, which added plenty of Fun Ship 2.0 upgrades such as new restaurants, bars and entertainment options. It also now has Balcony staterooms, each one featuring an outdoor space designed to help you make the most of the natural sea breeze.

Restaurants

Imagination

The Imagination is one of the Carnival Elation's main dining rooms and open daily for breakfast, brunch on sea days and dinner. It offers open seating for breakfast and lunch (lunch only on sea days). For dinner, you can choose between formal seatings or the ship's option for flexible "Your Time" dining, at which passengers can eat anytime between 5:45 and 9:30 p.m. Note that the venue starts getting busy from 6:30 onwards.

Inspiration

This is the Carnival Elationâ€™s second main dining room, which serves the shipâ€™s traditional dinners, where you choose your slot and sit at the same table next to the same passengers every evening. The early seating is at 6 pm and the late one is at 8:15 pm. You can choose your required seating by booking it before your cruise.

Tiffany's

The shipâ€™s large buffet-style Lido restaurant is located on deck ten and opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, though hours vary. They have a selection of food stations, including Italian, Asian, Self Service, Ice Cream Bar, and a Burger Bar. Continental and buffet style breakfasts are available here during the morning, with buffet style lunches and dinners. And who doesnâ€™t want to experience Breakfast at Tiffanyâ€™s? The ice cream bar and pizzeria are open for 24 hours a day.

Pizza Pirate

Itâ€™s no wonder this pizzeria is so popular - who doesnâ€™t like a free pizza thatâ€™s available 24 hours a day? They have six different pizza choices: margherita, pepperoni, Napolitana (olives, peppers and mushrooms), Capriciosa (anchovies, capers and tomatoes), De Chevre (garlic, mushrooms and goat cheese) and a pan style with sausage, peppers and onions.

Guy's Burger Joint

This excellent burger joint has the best burgers on board, every day from around noon to 6 pm. The restaurant is a Carnival partnership with Food Network personality Guy Fieri. The burgers are all grilled to perfection and has several toppings to choose from. It is located close to the pool and have a surf shack look, which appeal to guests of all ages.

BlueIguana Cantina

This pool deck Mexican buffet can be found on deck nine and opens for breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. Itâ€™s a great place to go for breakfast as they have arepas, huevos rancheros and made-to-order breakfast burritos. The fantastic food continues until the afternoon with freshly made tacos (chicken, fish, or pork) and burritos (beef, shrimp, chicken or bean). Scrumptious toppings include lime-infused rice and pico de gallo to beans and corn. The soft taco shells are freshly made, the food is delicious, and the lines are usually short, especially on port days.

The Chef's Table

The exquisite Chefâ€™s Table experience comes with quite a hefty cover charge but is bound to please even the pickiest foodie. The section is separated by a glass wall and the evening starts with cocktails and appetisers, followed by a tour of the kitchen and then leading on to an eight-course meal, hosted by one of the ship's master chefs. Book as early as possible as it is often sold out by the time the cruise departs.

Sushi at Sea

Sushi at Sea has some of the best sushi you will ever have on the high seas. The contemporary dÃ©cor inspires calm with bonsai trees and the ambiance is cosy yet trendy. This lovely spot offers affordable yet delectable sushi and sashimi as well as rolls, sides, soups, sakes, Kirin beers and desserts.

Musical Cafe

This speciality coffee shop is open for breakfast and afternoon tea. They have a large selection of speciality coffee drinks plus goodies like cakes, pastries and cookies. An insider tip is that the baked goods here are much better than those in the normal buffet area.

Bars and Lounges

Atrium Bar

This beautiful bar, located on deck sevenâ€™s atrium, is quiet during the day but comes alive at night when performers take over the entertainment. You can expect string trios and Latin singers as well as late night DJâ€™s. This is the perfect spot for after theatre drinks, as performers from the main shows often show up to mingle with fans. They serve some excellently crafted cocktails.

Duke's Piano Bar

This is the Carnival Elation's piano bar, which located on deck eight and has seating for 95 guests. It's a great spot to enjoy some live piano music and get involved in the different entertainment events such as sing alongs and Guess that Tune.

The Cole Porter Club

This is the Carnival Elationsâ€™ second largest show lounge. It is served by its own bar and features a range of entertainment including Punchliner Comedy Club, Art Auctions (with free champagne) and Karaoke. They also have several TV screens to be used separately or together as one big screen.

Romeo and Juliet Lounge

The Romeo and Juliet Lounge is located on deck nine, with enough seating for 109 guests. It has a whole host of activities and events such as trivia quizzes, live music, and karaoke and even has its own bar and dance floor.

Gatsby's Great Cigar Bar

Gatsby's is the ship's smoking lounge, which is located on deck nine and can seat up to 92 guests. It is a great place to sit and have a drink and listen to some music. They have several events here as well, like their famous Martini tastings.

Jekyll & Hyde Nightclub

This glitter inspired venue is arguable the Carnival Elationâ€™s best dance venue. It only opens at or after 10pm and has plenty of dance floor space and great DJâ€™s spinning all the best dance tracks.

Bluelguana Tequila Bar

This pool bar is situated next to the Beach pool, which is midship on deck ten. It offers Mexican favourites, including some top-notch tequilas and a selection of Mexican brews, cocktails and margaritas. You can try these by the glass or by the pitcher, or even enjoy their unique Mexican beer cocktails.

RedFrog Rum Bar

With the Caribbean chill of the RedFrog pub moving poolside with this rum bar on deck ten, this is a great place to enjoy a drink any time during the day and up to very late at night. Join the party to enjoy their great selection of frog-approved Caribbean rum-based concoctions, which you can buy by the glass or pitcher, plus plenty of Carnivalâ€™s signature own draft beer, ThirstyFrog Red.

Activities

Mikado Lounge

The Mikado Lounge, which spans decks eight and nine, hosts the most popular entertainment events on board. Itâ€™s home to Playlist Productions, which has some great song and dance performances. Another very popular show is Hasbro, the Game Show. Other fantastic shows include: The Welcome Aboard Show, Seuss-a-Palooza: Story Time, and the fun Love and Marriage show.

Casablanca Casino

The casino is very popular for its big selection of slot machines and table games including craps, blackjack and Texas Hold'em poker. Itâ€™s big, serving up to 450 guests and some games like blackjack and poker have a minimum $5 bet. Tournaments take place on different ships seasonally - check with Carnival for availability. You can either use your sail and sign cards or cash in the casino.

Carnival's Twister Waterslide

You will find the entrance to this 114-foot-long slide on deck twelve and it exits on deck ten. Itâ€™s great fun for the whole family but kids under thirteen need their parentâ€™s permission to use it and need to be at least 48â€ tall. They do not allow floatation devices or multiple riders on this waterslide. There also are two smaller racing slides for the little kids.

Spa Carnival

This decadent spa has all the most popular treatments available such as massages, facials, wraps and scrubs. It also offers medi spa treatments such as wrinkle busting and teeth whitening. It also has a full-service hair salon with menâ€™s grooming options.

Fitness Centre

Overlooking the ocean below, is the fitness centre area where you can join a class or make use of their state-of-the-art cardiovascular machines, including ellipticals, stationary bikes, treadmills, resistance machines and free weights. Some of their classes are free but others like pilates and yoga are charged per class. Personal training also is available.

Recreation

On decks twelve and fourteen, you can share some friendly competition at Ping-Pong, bocce ball, mini-golf, an oversized chess set or shuffleboard.

Video Arcade

The ship has a large video arcade on deck nine, next to Club 02. It is open 24 hours a day to all ages, featuring a range of arcade games and virtual reality games. They also have air hockey and drive and shooting video games. The arcade games are charged for and you can pay for it with your key card, so it may be a good idea to set a budget for your kids before they even start playing. The Sail & Sign card has a default of $20 per day which can be raised or lowered.

Kids Clubs

The Carnival Elation has a large area dedicated to children and teenagers, plus a lengthy list of activities. The minimum age for sailing on Carnival is 6 months. The ship is a good choice for families and offers a paid for "Night Owl" care for kids, which frees parents up to party until the early hours of the morning. The supervised youth programs include: Camp Ocean, Circle "C" and Club O2 for the teens. Unlike Camp Ocean, Circle C and Club O2 activities don't start until lunchtime and operate with a break
