The opulent and state-of-the-art Mainstage Theatre hosts one or two shows a night. The dazzling performances vary from Vegas-style reviews to sets by comedians and magicians. Shows are supplemented with stage special effects from giant video screens.

Music Walk is the name given to the ship's section that features several different music venues. Each venue has a different theme and atmosphere, whether that is classical, blues, rock or pop. The idea behind it is that you can simply dip in and out of the open lounges and even enjoy a bit of music on your way to dinner or a show.

This concert venue offers a variety of chamber and classical music concerts each evening with one piano and three string instruments. The performers are very talented and the performances outstanding.

This stylish venue is home to a dance floor and piano players who play a variety of pop hits and golden oldies on beautiful grand pianos. It's part audience participation, depending on the night, and requests are encouraged. Day time events include cocktail parties.

This fantastic club is the favourite amongst guests every night of the cruise. Here you can enjoy B.B. King's All-Stars, jamming the best of Memphis and Motown.

This bar is fantastic for all lovers of rock tunes, with its red leather sofas and servers sporting famous band T-shirts like Pink Floyd and the Ramones. They have classic cocktails and specialities on the menu.

Perfect for all foodies, this event hosts free group demos and charged for more intimate cooking classes.

Nieuw Amsterdam's casino is located on deck two and include plenty of slot machines, as well as table games such as blackjack, roulette, craps, Texas Hold'em. Their regular bingo tournaments are very popular.

The spa has an impressive thermal suite, which includes access to multiple saunas, a steam room, aromatherapy room, relaxation room with heated ceramic loungers and a hydrotherapy pool. Treatments onboard are provided using Elemis brand products. A dedicated salon offers hair, nail and men's services.

The fitness centre features an impressive array of cutting-edge fitness machines such as stationary bikes, rowing machines, ellipticals and weight machines, plus treadmills that face floor-to-ceiling windows over the ocean. Some of their classes are free but others like pilates and yoga are charged per class. Personal training is also available.

If you prefer to exercise outdoors, have a look at the walking track on deck three where three laps equal one mile. There is also a jogging track on deck ten where four laps will earn you a mile.

The Nieuw Amsterdam offers great kid and teen club facilities. Club Hal has age-appropriate activities for kids aged three to twelve and the teens have their own hangout space called the Loft. The hours vary based on the number of kids onboard and staffing, but there are generally activities planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a break for lunch
