Restaurants

Grand Pacific Restaurant

This impressive main restaurant serves daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It shares its menu with Magenta and serves a multi-course menu of freshly prepared cuisine. You can eat your meals any time within the opening times but try to show up at least half an hour before the meal ends. The menu for dinner offers a choice of two options, one being classic selections which are served every day and the second option on the menu is the chef's signature specialities which change daily for extraordinary food.

Magenta

The Gem's stylish second main dining room opens for dinner only from 5.30 pm to 10 pm. You will find it midship on deck six and this is a great spot to enjoy healthier and lighter meal options, as well as the same fare as the Grand Pacific.

Garden Cafe

The lovely Garden Cafe buffet offers indoor and outdoor seating areas. If you sit outside, you will have a lovely view of the Norwegian Bliss' main pool area. While there's plenty of space available, the seats become much busier during their peak hours that range from 8 to 9:30 am on port days and noon to 1 pm for lunch on sea days. They serve daily breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as having some evening snacks available.

Cagney's

Cagney's steak house and seafood restaurant is an a la carte restaurant with a thirties traditional steak house feel. You will find it on deck thirteen and it seats up to 168 diners. It is a reservation only restaurant which is open from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM daily. If you are one of the suite guests, you can also join them for breakfast, and they serve more upmarket breakfast items here like smoked salmon frittatas and fresh fruit juices. Guests can make reservations at the reservations desk situated on deck seven.

The Orchid Garden

This Asian fusion restaurant has some delightful dishes like vegetable dumplings and pork spare ribs, followed by Chinese chicken salad or hot and sour soup, and entrees like Cantonese scallops with snow peas, moo shoo pork and stir-fried lobster. They also have some mouth-watering desserts.

Teppanyaki

This intimate Japanese dining venue only serves a small number of guests at any one time, so reservations come highly recommended. This unique restaurant allows you to see Japanese hibachi meals cooked in front of you by chefs performing tricks with the food and their cooking utensils.

Le Bistro

This fantastic restaurant has classically French decor and stylish seating. It opens daily from 5:30 PM to 10 PM. It has some of the best French cuisine available ranging from appetisers, soups and salads to meats and seafood, and some classic desserts such as Apple Tatin and Creme Brulee. Reservations can be made on the concierge desk on deck 7.

La Cucina

This a la carte dining venue offers fantastic Italian food like pizza and pasta, fresh salads, Italian desserts, great wine and Italian drinks like espresso and cappuccinos to round off your meal. It opens daily from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM and reservations are recommended. Children are welcome and those under the age of twelve can eat for free from the normal kid's menu.

Moderno Churrascaria

This delightful South American restaurant has an a la carte menu and opens daily for dinner. It is located on deck eight and operates on a red and green card system. If you haven't seen this before it means that if you pick green, the waiters will keep offering you tasty skewers of barbecued meats which is carved at your table and once you are full, you simply indicate your red card to stop service. It is a real treat and comes highly recommended to meat lovers.

Bars and Lounges

Java Cafe and Bar

This coffee bar can be found on deck seventeen, seats up to 89 passengers, and opens every day from 7 AM until late. Lovers of coffee will enjoy getting their daily caffeine fix here, even if you have to pay a little extra. The reason is that they sell premium coffees and teas, which comes with free cupcake, muffins, scones, biscuits and pastries. You can enjoy the live music from the Crystal Atrium and at night, they also serve cocktails and wine.

Maltings

The Maltings beer and whiskey Bar seats up to 40 guests, can be found mid ship on deck six, and has a backdrop reflecting the production of beer. They offer beer and tequila tastings and host scavenger hunts and air some sporting events for guest's entertainment.

Spinnaker Lounge

This second entertainment show lounge, has been lovingly decorated in blue and beige mixed with comfy new leather arm chairs. It's a great place to relax during the day with its Cuba-inspired artwork and fantastic panoramic sea views. It's served by its own bar, and features a dance floor, which really comes alive later in the evenings after 11 pm, when this becomes an adult only venue. Everyone is however welcome during the day, when it hosts game shows, dance classes and bingo games.

Magnum's Champagne & Wine Bar

Open from 12.00 pm to close, can accommodate 77 guests and features dÃ©cor inspired by the Art Nouveau era with elements and colours reflecting Charles Rennie Mackintoshâ€™s designs. Entertainment on offer ranges from guitar and piano music to trivia, goofy golf competitions and scavenger hunts.

Shakers Martini Bar

This chic bar serves up an extensive range of martinis and cocktails for guests to enjoy in surroundings depicting James Bond style graphic silhouette images from the 60's and 70's. Martini tasting also takes place here where guests can sample four fab types of martinis.

Activities

Stardust Theatre

You will find this brilliant and huge theatre on decks five, six and seven. It proudly offers shows like "World Beat", "Get Down Tonight" and "The Second City". The two main screenings are at 7 PM and 9:00 PM respectively. During the day, the theatre is also used for game shows such as Deal or No Deal and for screening movies.

Gem Casino

The Norwegian Gem's casino is on deck six and is available to all guests over the age of 18. It has several gaming tables and slots and can host up to 327 guests at any time. Some favourite games include: Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, Let it Ride, Baccarat, Poker, and Texas Hold'Em. It opens from 9 AM to closing time.

Yin & Yang Spa

This spa, operated by Steiner, includes a beauty salon for hair-styling, manicures and pedicures, and also a treatment area for both the usual and more exotic options, like hot-stone massages and a Quartz life facial with an advanced anti-ageing focus. Do keep an eye out for port-day specials.

Body Waves

This is one of the most comprehensive health clubs at sea. It features treadmills, stationary bikes and StairMasters, all with individual mini-flat-screen televisions. There is the usual array of weight machines, as well as a separate weight room. They also have an aerobics studio with some free and some charged for classes.

Outdoor Recreation

The Norwegian Gem has a rock-climbing wall and a sports court. The full-sized basketball court can conveniently also be used for tennis, volleyball, and soccer. Other activities include Ping-Pong on the pool deck and open Wii play in the Crystal Atrium. There is a running track on deck thirteen, which is open to walkers as well.

Tahitian-inspired Pool Area

This beautiful and vivacious pool area has two pools and four whirlpools, of which half of them are adult-only, making for a more peaceful experience. There is also an indoor kids pool for the younger kids.

Bowling at Bliss Ultra Club

This vibrant bar is also home to a four-lane bowling alley, which are only slightly smaller than those you'll find on dry land. Games are inexpensive and includes the rental of bowling shoes as long as you have your own socks.

Kids Clubs

The Splash Academy program is split into 3 age appropriate groups for little ones, kids and teenagers. The Tree Top Kids Club is the hub of the programme where all kids can gather. Groups are made up of: Guppies (6 months to 3 years, with parent), Turtles (3 - 5), Seals (6 - 9) and Dolphins (10 - 12). They also have a games arcade on the same deck which charges a small fee per game played.
